SMTA is committed to introducing a sustainable modern mass transit system accessible to everyone to commute and connect people safely, economically, and timely.
SMTA is implementing multiple projects under the 'Karachi Transportation Improvement Project" to address the transportation needs of the ever sprawling urban hubs in Sindh Province, especially Karachi. After the successful operation of Green Line BRT, Govt. of Sindh funded 3.8 KM long Abdul Sattar Edhi BRT Line (Orange Line) is also ready to be integrated with GL. The Sindh Intra-District Peoples Bus Service Project” is an integrated bus operations model as a solution to cater to the public transport demand in various cities in the province of Sindh. The project envisages a pilot phase with 250 Low Entry Diesel Hybrid 12M long buses plying 7 priority routes of Karachi and 1 route at Larkana. The Yellow BRT Corridor is 22 KMs long, connecting Korangi Industrial Areas from Dawood Chowrangi to Numaish, and will provide people and especially women living along the corridor a safe, reliable, and affordable transport system.
Our main objective is to provide a sustainable, safe, reliable, and affordable public transport system for the people of Sindh. We strive to ensure responsive and coordinated efforts through effective management and with the assistance of our industry stakeholders, government, and customers to connect Sindh through a modern transport network.

Established in November 2017 for the purpose of, inter alia, planning, coordinating, constructing, developing, operating, maintaining, monitoring and regulating mass transit systems in the province of Sindh and carrying out all ancillary functions thereto for providing safe, efficient, comfortable, affordable, sustainable and reliable forms of mass transit systems and to make provisions for matters connected therewith or ancillary thereto. Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) is committed to provide sustainable modern mass transit system accessible to public to commute safely, timely with reasonable fare. The Authority is successfully delivering policy, regulations and planning of public transport networks for all major cities of Sindh. Since the establishment of SMTA, the Authority has successfully introduced measures to ease, access and mobility for the public. In these years, SMTA diligently took actions to ensure that the responsibility of providing safe, accessible and sustainable modern mass transit system is delivered to the public with reasonable fares.
